Grace, You Amaze Me

Kristine called 440.ten.dril last week to ask me to write a song about her grandmother, Grace. In her voicemail she directed me to a tribute that she had written on her blog, a drop in the bucket. The tribute begins with a quote from the book of proverbs. Here's a part of it below...
"Her children arise and call her blessed." --Proverbs 31:28
At age 103, she is clearly something special. But we knew she was special long before she reached a milestone age. No one can make biscuits like Grandmama or hug like Grandmama  or smell as yummy as Grandmama. Her name, Grace, suits her perfectly, because it is with grace that she handles everyone and everything that comes her way, including my grandfather's longtime battle with Parkinson's Disease. I will never forget the strength she showed during those difficult years. (He died in 1990.)

She has four grandchildren, and while we have always felt we were the center of her world (if we wanted it, Grandmama stopped at nothing to give it to us), as the years have gone by, she has become the center of ours. She is the sun that we orbit around.
Grace is clearly and amazing person, and I was so happy to have an opportunity to write a song for her and her family.

You can listen to the song here.

Vote For Gino

What is your song idea? * I need a campaign jingle. I'm running for president of my law school class and need something that will be catchy and stick in my classmates' heads and will have them vote for me. Maybe talk about how I'll plan good parties, will represent evening students, would be the first filipino president (jokingly), will have a pretty first lady, etc. Feel free to be as funny and as catchy as you'd like. Describe your song in one word * Catchy

Social Interruption

What is your song idea? * My friend & I are looking for an rocking ballad-type tune for our online radio show/podcast, Social Interruption with Schmidt & Hof. The show is about everything and nothing. Sports, politics, technology, music, movies, celebrities, beer, geeky stuff, whatever comes to mind. It's almost like morning radio with no censorship. Fear Is A Blanket

I have another poem that might make a nice song. So, if you want, feel free to use it. i know that / these girls are laughing at me / but what's this guy staring at? / i know my roommate is poisoning the tea / and I know that / the doorman has a key to my room / but why's security pointing with the bat? / i know new york will kill me soon / fear's a drenched blanket / encasing me: heavy and tight / a flexible casket / tucked in I'm shivering through the night / i know that / while I'm having my breakfast bagel / someone's senselessly dying in combat / and someone's mutilated on the torturer's table / and i know that / i'll unravel tier after tier / the ever-present threat / that i'm fleeing like a haunted deer / fear's a drenched blanket / encasing me: heavy and tight / a flexible casket / tucked in I'm shivering through the night / but then again... / i know that / there's a place at the sea / and i know that / you're in this world with me / yes, you're in this world, too / walking lightly through the darkest ravines / yet, i don't know what to do / yet, i don't know what it means / fear's an impervious shroud / enwrapping me: opaque and tight / a light annihilating cloud / burying me in my own ever-lasting night. / Description: paranoid/wallowing in self-pity

Closer Of A Difference

What's your song idea? * Okay, here's the idea for a song (keep in mind this is all silly) The "Band Name" is called: Whisper of Busey. How would the song "Closer of a Difference" sound. I would love to hear what you come up with with such vague info.

Let's All Drown Out The Ice Cream Truck

What is your song idea? * I have been plagued by my neighborhood ice cream truck song (no, not the one with all the triplets... this one is worse. Google "chicago ice cream truck song" if you must, but you've been warned) and I'm looking for something to drown it out with. Please help me, wiggly tendrils! (also, don't move to Berkeley! We'll miss you!) Describe your song in one word * ice(crea)mare

Blessed Are The Builders

one two ready go...

oh i know that you were made
because you have a belly button
and if it's true your made
well then you must be made for something

for the keyboards that you play
for the crayons and the brushes
you've made each one a place
in the world you've built around us

but your bodies weren't made to last forever
and your hearts are not perpetual machines
but you choose to love each day
because it's how we're made
and love is what survives us when we leave

and the best thing that you've made
so far is a decision
to stand up here today
you and your officiant

and first the match was made
and then the band of silver
and now the vows exchanged
oh blessed are the builders

for their bodies weren't made to last forever
and their hearts are not perpetual machines
but they choose to love each day because that's how they're made
and love is what survives us when we leave

oh let's choose to love each day
because that's how we're made
and love is what survives us when we leave

Bunches Of Bananas

What is your song idea? *
We were married Aug 5 We met in 1999 doing a play called Christmas Comes to Detroit Louie We were 15 turning 16 we are now 27 his bday is Dec 15 mine Dec 8 1983 he loves tools, building things, and music. He built a photo booth for the wedding. I love to read and nap. He wore a kilt for the wedding. our 1st kiss and proposal were at Penn's Landing. He knows me better than I know myself and keeps me calm and grounded when everything is going wrong and is happy for me when things go right. I have blue eyes he has green. We both went to catholic single sex high schools. He is an amazing cook. He listens when you speak and thinks out his answers first. He lets me tell him stories over and over. He is wonderful with children and will be an amazing father. He is smart and seeks knowledge in all fields. He is loyal. It took 11years to get married but it was worth the wait. The wedding was the happiest day of my life. We were both crying from joy and laughing the entire ceremony. We did a handfasting ceremony I wrote cause we wanted something special. I want the song to be about our love. We have been through a lot together with ourselves as a couple and with our families but we made it through because we were together. We like to do puzzles together. He likes to take the opposite point just to antagonize me sometimes. He works with his hands so they are callused a strong. He has an infectious laugh and smile. He is the only person to make me feel comfortable enough to be silent. I love him whole bunches of bananas

Describe your song in one word *

I love you whole bunches of bananas
the above remains true when we're "grandpa" and "grandma"
oh love of my life won't you please come step with me inside
of this photobooth

because i love you whole boxes of puzzles
when you state the opposing view just to make me befuddled
and you keep me calm when everything is going wrong
i confide in you

1999
we met through a play
we were just 15
but it was worth the wait

because i love you whole bunches of bananas
the above remains true when you're grandpa to my grandma
oh love of my life, i have never been the silent type...
but i'm comfortable with
i'm just comfortable with you
like a bunch of yellow fruit

Like Tiffany Glasses

Hopes and dreams are somewhat like some kind of translucent, colored glasses

What is your song idea? *
(sorry for the potential grammar mistakes, I'm not a native speaker :D)

Hopes and dreams are somewhat like some kind of transculent, colored glasses like Tiffany glasses... they have all kinds of colors and shades-sometimes lightly, but still, and they glisten ethereally, when the sun shines a ray on them.
But sometimes they explode, usually because of a ruthless inner thrust, and the little glass pieces are falling down in slow motion in front of our eyes, slowly and gradually losing their wonderful, unique colors and turning into some dull grey. Then we fall on our knees, then lie on the ground, and powerlessly, but still, we are looking, scavenging for little pieces that may have a slight, dim light of color in them frantically and lunatically. This dream, this ambition seemed like rebirth and the chance of a lifetime, again, like the others, and it fell into lifeless pieces agauin. Luck is rotating like a wheel, they say. So we sigh, gain some strength... first we get on our knees again... because we just can't give up. After some agony, we start to look for some pieces with some faint color or sheen in them, now with a bit clearer, fresher eye... to construct a new hope and dream again, from it. Because we're hopeful. And we can still go on and believe that it's THAT one. .. and we still hope that it isn't going to shatter like the other ones in the past.

Describe your song in one word *
hope-seeking

i'm so glad you have this online form! i've been meaning to make a request.

is hoping that you'll move
back to west philadelphia
and come home soon

you miss west philadelphia
and west philly misses you
all those cherries that you love
they're in the pits and homesick its true
the giant roaches are doing fine
in fact they're much improved
but the rest of west philadelphia
is depressed, and homesick for you...

Robot And The Octopus (Inspired by LaRu)

See More Handmade Wearable Art From LaRu: http://www.etsy.com/shop/LaRu#

What is your song idea?
I recently bought an awesome belt buckle with a picture of a robot hugging an octopus on it. i would like a song detailing their forbidden and ultimately doomed love.

Picture here: http://www.etsy.com/transaction/45200798

describe your song in one word
Roboctolove

The robot would clean the lab all day
The neatest piles of the cleanest slides
And the beakers were all put in their place
Counting down the nanoseconds till he'd clean the aquarium

The octopus would do her best to catch his eye
Changing colors into binary numbers
With her suction cup array
Using their secret language to plot and plan their schemes

"I love you, Octopus!"
"I love you, Robot!"

The octopus wanted to return to the sea
The plan was simple: steal some solar panels,
A submarine and a car to escape
Drive to the ocean for a life beneath the waves

"I love you, Octopus!"
"I love you, Robot!"

Late one rainy night, when the scientists were asleep
The android and the cephalopod broke the locks and then hotwired a jeep

"I love you, Octopus!"
"I love you, Robot!"

Get Down With The Legion of Doom

What is your song idea?
Lately I have been really stuck on songs that contain instructions for doing a dance, ranging from something with really specific lyrics like "The Time Warp" to something pretty vague like "The Hustle," but I haven't found any dance instruction songs that are about things that are close to my heart, such as superheros or cupcakes. Could you guys make a superhero or cupcake dance instruction song?

describe your song in one word
hot

if you like to party
and don't like to follow rules
then take a romp through slaughter swamp
and get down with the legion of doom

lex luther brings the cupcakes
black manta brings the drinks
brainiac does the robot in back
'cause he don't care what the other cats think

bizarro he'll be twisting
giganta dances with wonder woman
captain cold he'll be dropping it low
and black manta will be doing the swim

gorilla grodd does the monkey
cheetah does the catwalk cross the room
brainiac does the robot in back
when he gets down with the legion of doom

if you like to party
and don't like to follow rules
listen up and i'll teach you the steps
and we'll get down with the legion of doom

step to the left the kick then punch
retreat to the back make a dodge then a duck
quarter turn to the right smoke bomb kaboom
you just got down with the legion of doom

The Flying Dutchman

What is your song idea? *
Could you please write a song for the verses below. Thanks.

en passant my attention was captured:/
magnificently emerging from amidst the orchids,/
idly eclipsing all the crowd around,/
lovely earthbound bird in its academic cage. /
you did not know that I was enraptured. /

embayed in my memory's remotest sea: /
me and my treasure roamed alongside,/
i yearningly held on to that easeful reverie,/
like the doomed Dutchman waiting for your annual return./
you - alas - did not have a remembrance of me./

eventually, my awkward cacology spoken in dismay:/
mercifully you bent your head on its slender neck,/
if only l could have formed something with those worn out words,/
limning how painfully beautiful you are to me./
you averted your eyes and flew away./

Describe your song in one word *

Wondergirl

What is your song idea?
You wrote a song about our son Jack and we love it! Would TW Tendrils to sing one about our daughter, Audrey? :)

Audrey Leah Joy is a tiny girl full of sweetness and wonder. A contrast of beauty and intelligence, she is ever-curious and absolutely gorgeous. She is equally adept at crying as she is at smiling. Her eyes are the color of the sea and her laugh makes everyone smile. She loves her binky, her brother Jacky, and playing outside, especially racing down the slide. When Audrey is around, its impossible to be unhappy. She just might be the most hilarious & sassy almost-three-year-old the world has ever seen :)

Thank you!

describe your song in one word

Audrey Leah Joy is beautiful
and she's so intelligent
she's a wonder-girl
all sweetness and peppermint

she's outside jacky and her on the slide binky in tow

Audrey Leah Joy is curious
her eyes the shade of the sea
and she's gorgeous
and a contradiction beneath

she's outside jacky and her on the slide binky in tow
it's impossible to be unhappy when she is happy and she is the happiest sassiest wonder-girl
i'll ever know

Nanapolooza

What is your song idea?
Nana is turning 90 in June and so we are having a nanapalooza. This will be her birthday song.

She met Daddy Pat in a bar in Mexico. They lived in Texas, Miami, New York City, London, and Hong Kong. She used to be a pretty big partier too with wild dresses and lots of drinking, before her christian stage. And she raised two complete sets of kids, waiting for the second pair until the first pair had left home. She used to bake homeade bread all the time until one time at a party when a fellow was talking about how much he loves homemade bread and misses it because his wife only bought storebought and Daddy Pat didn't brag on Nana and she never made homeade again.
She travelled all over the world with Daddy Pat since he was an international pilot. they owned an antique store called the green lantern when he retired.

Nana used to be obsessed with her hairdo so when traveling she would wear a plastic shower cap in some public places ie, taxi cabs or bus tours , so the wind wouldn't mess it up... it was very funny AND funny looking i am sure, especially in Israel, Thailand, Greece just to name a few.

Nana's mother was lots of fun and would go out and dance in the rain and be silly but had a hard time getting around as a result of having had polio as a child. She had a big cast iron skillet and would cook the biscuits in it followed by the bacon or sausage followed by the eggs for a one pan meal. Nana's parents were divorced and she used to plan to be home from a visit to her dad before the next childsupport payment was due in case he wouldn't send it otherwise and her mom had no other income.

Nana's grandparents lived on a farm in rural texas and were really sweet and loving and jolly. Nana used to swim in the cow tank there and walk barefoot down the dusty road to her friend's house. Her mom and dad almost got re-married after they were divorced but her stepmother got pregnant right as he was about to leave her. Her father owned a ford dealership in Texas. Her brother Bill was a baker. One time when we had a watermelon but no knife at a rest stop Nana broke open the watermelon with a great heave onto a cement bench and we just dug it out with our fingers.

Her dream house that she and Daddy Pat built on the river had a mexican feel with a courtyard and tile roofs. They used to go out on a houseboat and then later a pontoon boat. She had a beautiful fish pond there and paths through the bamboo and tons of flowers everywhere. You could watch the sun set over the Sebastion river.

He Does The Trick

What is your song idea?
On July 15, 2011, I will marry my best friend and the love of my life. We are high school sweethearts and have been together almost 9 years. We have so much fun together and just love to laugh and be goofy. We have never lived together and we just bought a house. We are so excited to embark on our new adventure as newlyweds and finally get to live together. I am a hopeless romantic, and he is a complete gentleman who always opens my car door for me even after 8.5 years! :o) I feel so lucky to have found such amazing love so early on in life. I can't wait to grow old with him. We will be that old couple who sits next to one another in the same booth at a restaurant. :o) I call him 'baby' and he calls me 'babe'.

describe your song in one word

because the way he treats me lets me know he loves me so

when he opens up the door for me for me that does the trick

my sweetheart is goofy and he makes me laugh out loud
and when we're newly married we are moving to a house
and when we're old he'll take my coat and then we will both sit
on the same side of the booth to eat and for me that does the trick

for me that does the trick
oh for me that does the trick
he's a perfect gentleman and i'm a hopeless romantic

and for me that does the trick
for me he does the trick
if you ask me what is love i simply answer this

that for me he does the trick

Go Coco

What is your song idea?
Cocobean is a tiny girl with brilliant red hair. 2 years old and weighing in at a mere 20 pounds. She's a spitfire, though. All seeing, all knowing. She is the fly on the wall. Unassuming at times, but constantly observing, showing no indication that she understands until it's her time to show us. She does things her way. She wouldn't wait for us to get to the hospital before she was born and she doesn't wait for us to decide that it's time to put on "shirt-pants" or "go bye-bye". We are and always will be her constant support, but also her heaviest anchor. Go, Coco, go.

describe your song in one word
Go.

coco is a girl just a tiny lass
curls the color of a lobster back
she don't stop when she's made up her mind so don't even ask
just say go coco go coco go coco

she's like the fly walking up the wall
composite eye seeing all
we won't know that she's made up her mind till she tells us so
but then it's go coco go coco go coco

in a hurry since the day she was born
racing mom to the hospital ward
racing mom to the hospital ward
coco put the pedal down to the floor

her parentals are her constant support
coco puts the pedal down to the floor
i said it once, i said it once and i'll say it once more
i'll say go coco go coco go coco

i'll say go coco go coco go coco

My Paintbrush and I

What is your song idea?
In the magic of the night, awake when everyone else sleeps...I paint. I create. My heart is young, my art is fantasy, my older self lends it's wisdom without worrying about grey hair or eating too many carbs. I get lost in a world of mermaids and unicorns....find happiness in a place of pens, brushes, paint tubes and canvas....trade my crows feet in for wings of imagination, exchange my age spots for smears of paint...

There is magic in that liquid, like the waters of the fountain of youth...it re-energizes my spirit and masks the weariness that creeps into my bones...

I dare not succomb to the soft sounds of sleep in the air...for there will be plenty of time to slumber when I can no longer hold a paintbrush...and the Muse no longer whispers to me in the stillness...

describe your song in one word
Escape

each sleepless night my paintbrush and i
greet each muse as she come
as she come one by one

for my heart is young and my soul is old
my imagination fills with unicorns and mermaids wondrous to behold

and i greet each muse as she come
my paint brush and i each sleepless night one by one

i've learned happiness is filled with bristly tips
and were i to slumber i would be remiss, i'd be remiss

for i greet each muse as she come
my paintbrush and i each sleepless night one by one
my paintbrush and i each sleepless night one by one

We'll All Turn Into Unicorns

What is your song idea?
Narwhals wearing sombreros come to school because they want to watch movies with Ally and Sophie. They find out that the world is going to end in 3 days so they must turn everyone into a narwhal by spearing them. Then everyone becomes unicorns of the sea. They play with Arial, the little mermaid, and the song ends swimmingly.

we'll all become unicorns and play all day in the sea
and we'll all become unicorns untill the song ends swimmingly

Jacky Moon

What is your song idea?

This song is about our son, Jacky Moon. He's adorable and wild and is on a mission to destroy the house. He is super curious and equally sweet but he won't let you know about that part. He has a mop of dark brown hair, big brown eyes, chubby cheeks and a wide grin. He runs fast and shouts a lot :) He's also the cutest baby in the world. Left unattended he could potentially destroy the universe. He's one part superhero, one part villain, one part baby. His story must be told.

describe your song in one word
Beautiful destruction

jacky moon you are the wildest child
next to you the terrible twos seem mild
yes they do oh jacky moon

jacky moon you are made of quickness
and vroom the sound of your infant engines
oh vroom oh jacky moon

little jacky moon always tries to raise the roof
such a brave little man such a villainous papoose

jacky moon did your mop of brown hair
just consume the two eye balls i found there
peekaboo i see you jacky moon

Japanese makes no sense to me

I can feel your heart
I can feel your soul
and though we're apart
it's like we're close

Japanese makes no sense to me

but I can feel your heart
I can feel your soul
though I'm in the dark
it's like I know

Japanese makes no sense to me

so I just feel your heart
and you just feel my soul
with an old guitar
and a microphone

and though we're apart
it's like we're close

What is your song idea?
"Most of you may not understand what I sing because I'm singing in Japanese. But I believe music is heart and music is soul. I'm very happy if you feel my heart and soul." ~Higuchi Makiko.

Video Cat Jazz Quartet (imagined live at the OV)

What is your song idea?
I'm looking for something really funky and jazz like. I love the piano and guitar, so I'd like those to be in the rhythm. I want a really bassy song, so something with either electric bass, or tuba or trombone or some other bass instrument playing melody.
I'd just love for you guys to try, even if you guys aren't really jazz oriented.
Thanks a bunch!

Like A Bird In A Maze

if a heroic snail

press start select BA
like a bird, like a bird in a maze

c'mon player one
don't hesitate lest you slain

just a side scroller kinda craze
just a bird in a maze

like a bird in a maze
like a bird in a maze
like b bird in a maze

What is your song idea?
Previous request, Space Whales, was so good that I'm compelled to ask again.
My friend is writing a Metroidish 8-bit style videogame with a snail for hero, which has a maze room you have to shoot and break open the path to get to an item, which has no enemies in it.
Her bird enemies fly through all objects like Medusa heads in Castlevania, so I joked "that room with the breakable maze to the helix piece, you could have birds fly through there too. since they can already fly through the ground why not brick walls too."
Anyways can you write a song about Birds In The Maze Room. Here's the cover art:

The Greatest Ever Day

five years old a little man
presents from mom presents from dad
its the greatest ever the greatest day you ever had

put on your socks put on your shoes
take a walk around the zoo
hear the big birds squawk hear the small ones coo

and the elephants go: brrrrrrrrrah!
and the monkeis they go: ooo ooo ooo!
and the zebras go: neigh!
and you got a drum and then you played!
on the greatest ever, the greatest ever day

joshua play your drum
and when you're older buy a six string --learn to strum
for happiness sounds like purrrrr um purrrr um purrrr um purrrr um

and the elephants go: brrrrrrrrrah!
and the monkeis they go: ooo ooo ooo!
and the zebras go: neigh!
and you have a drum and so you play!
on the greatest ever, the greatest ever day

you come home late put on pj's
you and mom and dad around board games
the perfect ending to the greatest ever day

when the elephants go: brrrrrrrrrah!
and the monkeis they go: ooo ooo ooo!
and the zebras go: neigh!
and you have a drum and so you play!
on the greatest ever, the greatest ever day

What is your song idea?
For Joshua's 5th birthday he opened lots of presents in the morning and then went to the LA zoo with mom and dad. He saw monkeys, giraffes, elephants, and zebras. In the shop he got a drum and played it all the way home. Then he went to Hermosa Beach and ate bread in his favourite restaurant! At home we played board games before going to bed. 'This was the best day EVER,' he said! :-)

This Pill Is A Placebo

My head is pounding.
I blame it on the night before.
You say it's the outside.
But the outside was rather nice.

You should see the things that I can see when I look deep down inside of me.

You're mad at the country.
Who the hell gave them right?
They should all go elsewhere.
Well, elsewhere could be very nice.

There's good and there's bad.
There's an evil feeling on this land.

What is your song idea?
-You know, everybody's got some one to blame, because they don't want to look inside themselves.
-And what do you see inside yourself?
-Inside myself? I see everything. I see it all. I see the good, the bad, the evil, the whole thing.

Living Musically

when you whine
it rots my teeth
when you complain
it sounds so sweet to me
for everything is musical
when you are living musically

sing a song
or stomp your feet
in time (or not) with the beat
for everything is musical
when you're living musically

la
ooo

go ahead and bellow
or just be mellow
grab a bow and play me the cello
for everything is musical
oh everything is musical
everything is musical
when you're living musically
when you're living musically

What is your song idea?
I am a choir teacher and deal with all of the complaints and issues that students offer: "I'm tired", "I don't want to", "Why do we have to...?", "You played our notes wrong", "we don't know this song"...along with the nonstop talking about EVERYTHING unrelated (boyfriends, clothes, makeup, girls, other teachers, etc.). I would love a "quit whining and sing" type of song to play for them...or sing to them when they whine. :)

What is your song idea?
My boyfriend, Peter, is turning 60 on March 28th. We are going to surprise him at a party when his daughters show up. Funny song would be great that captures the following. He is very proud of his 3 beautiful daughters (as well as his full head of gorgeous grey hair). He is a big Chelsea soccer fan and Giants football fan. He is from England (30 years ago..but hangs onto his British accent since Americans love it). His passion is golf and he wants a puppy so badly for his birthday (not happening)

Bowie

words and music by D.E. Healey

we were teen-aged and strange
impatient and afraid
all mirrors and tears and radios

we were bright we were brave
but going through a phase
all freak all cheek all chic all pose

but we played records, baby
we made tapes
we heard a voice that came
from outer space

it said "Hey, it's OK."

CHORUS:
he was the sun
he made us stars
we played pianos
we played guitars
no two of us the same
ooh how we sighed
when they asked if we knew his name

we dressed up and we danced
took an inch, a mile, a chance
all eyes all ears from head to toe

we sang our voices horse
all through the throes of youth of course
the thrilling highs the crushing lows

but we made records, baby
we made tapes
and the backing band they came
from outer space

they said "hey, it's OK!"

CHORUS

How To Paint An Owl

were the world entire
questions i inquire
were the answers formless
and each color nameless
would my fingers spreading
as if fleshy netting
find their places aimless
all that is is the canvas now

how to paint an owl
how to paint an owl

who is this before me
who might know his story
dew eyed in the morning
born of paint stolen from the trowel

how to paint an owl

Winter Feasts

Words and music by Terrance G. and T. W. Tendrils

it's a winter wonder land
when you're with me my friend
snowflakes are falling
and frosting our windows
so we trace a heart because we're amigos

la la la
la la la
the firelight licking my favorite poem

winter feasts
have made us obese
oh pretend i'm a snowman and roll me back home

it's a winter wonderland
because you're with me my friend
we wait for the sun
and sit by the window
just you and me with a tin of hot cocoa

look snow angels
watch silver bells
we're the holiday movie we've made for ourselves

have a snowball fight
and stay up all night
we don't say a word because there's nothing to tell

it's a winter wonder land
when you're with me my friend
snowflakes are falling
they stick me like memory

What is your song idea?
A song about this winter that wouldn't end.
Pro's of the endless winter include cozy coffee houses, snuggly sweaters, reading books and cuddling with my dogs (maybe the nature of being single in an endless winter).
Cons are gaining winter weight, cold hands when I walk the dogs, paying for oil and parking bans.
Will spring ever come?

The Battle Of Wisconsin

Words and Music by Uso Oso

The mud runs strong right through Madison.
Can you feel the mud run right through the chides of sin?

The mud runs strong right through the line of men.
Can you stop the heart beats of the fighters within.

They think they cut us down, but they're wrong.
They think they cut us down, but we just keep fighting on.

What is your song idea?
Hi. I have a friend from Madison, Wisconsin who has been deeply involved in the current political battle and been protesting for weeks. I am requesting a song for her and all of the protestors to thank them for all of their hard work and to inspire them to keep fighting, despite the unfortunate recent turn of events. It is a sad day for Wisconsin and I hope this cheers them up! Thanks!

What is your song idea?
50TH birthday wishes. Our friends (Dean and Barbara) are turning 50 within 2 days of each other (party March 5th). They’re married with 3 kids. The song celebrates 50 years and many more to come. They are “way young”. Their role now is to keep on doing all of those things they enjoy such as… downhill skiing (no cross country skiing here!), dry martinis-with the olive juice, cheering the Pittsburgh Steelers (for her), the New England Patriots (for him) (and sometimes even Michael Vick!)(for her!), boating, dancing the inch worm, perfecting those squats, golf with the girls and Dean happily searching for his golf ball. Last, but definitely not least, hanging out with all of their family and friends!
