i place this in your care

mp3

secretly releasing memory
i believe that we were not all this way
so here i place this in your care
that you might use my life as you see fit
and then but then again
i surmise that we have had an understanding
and though we argue there's we nothing we could do
it's all unproved

come settle me my pilgrim

mp3

come settle me my pilgrim i'm unsettled and i'm unfulfilled
i swear it where merits prevail i've failed
come careful wear frailties with shell or scales

come constantly occurring blurry i'll be sure to sight
were i to see a shade i'll raise and surely dowse the blinds
then unlace my eyes
while we kiss riddle me this for i'm unsure what it is

my first is foremost legally
my second circles outwardly
my third leads all in victory
my fourth twice ends a nominee

my first is foremost legally
my second circles outwardly
my third leads all in victory
my fourth twice ends a nominee

come settle me my pilgrim i'm unsettled and i'm unfulfilled

what birdies dream

mp3

my bus was late today but i couldn't wait anymore
because i'd made a date with my one and only true love
so i resigned to run

the birdies on the wing
they that wish that they could run as far as we
and when they go to sleep
they dream of bobbling between A and B

and maybe they'll evolve
and grow a pair of arms
then they'd not look so bizarre
because it's creepy that they're armless as they are

the birdies on the wing
they that wish that they could run as far as we
and when they go to sleep
they dream of bobbling between A and B
and when they're in their trees
they that wish that they could run as far as we
and when they look for seed
they that wish that they could run as far as we
and when they scream their tweets
they that wish that they could run as far as we

they that wish that they could run as far as we

love story in reverse

mp3

lest our hearts unwind
and our stars misalign
and the rise of love in our hearts decline
as we part unaquatinted in time
let not our lovely love story run its course and rewind
and rewind

please please allay

mp3

when my lady friend starts to drive me mad
with harmoniums from the interweb

i say please please please allay
history is dead and grows deader each day

like the manuscripts piled vertically
in the windowsill from the library

oh please please please allay
print it is dead and grows deader each day
but we're still alive in these compartments of skin

and if i'm driven to insanity
she will come to me and whisper gently

please please please allay

consider the necessity

mp3

consider the
necessity
of miscellaneous
amenities

and absolutes
from partisans
which cultivate
exclusivity

please don't pretend
to make sense of it

deliberate
bring scrutiny
miscalculate
with certainty

please don't pretend
to make sense of it
when its bullshit

accountability
transparency
ingenuity
prosperity

please don't pretend
to make sense of it

the seahorse and shore

mp3

when we walk she and i
our foot falls align
as we both stride
we may not say a word
we may talk in turns
so we're both heard

our feet release the ground
the earth falls far below
the heavens grow close
we relinquish control

and so it goes each morn
for the seahorse and shore
and were i to make our case
it would take the shape
of our embrace

our feet release the ground
we alter our hue
the heavens are near
we know what to do

our feet release the ground
it falls far below
our future grows close
we both know our role
