The Flying Dutchman
What is your song idea? *
Could you please write a song for the verses below. Thanks.
en passant my attention was captured:/
magnificently emerging from amidst the orchids,/
idly eclipsing all the crowd around,/
lovely earthbound bird in its academic cage. /
you did not know that I was enraptured. /
embayed in my memory's remotest sea: /
me and my treasure roamed alongside,/
i yearningly held on to that easeful reverie,/
like the doomed Dutchman waiting for your annual return./
you - alas - did not have a remembrance of me./
eventually, my awkward cacology spoken in dismay:/
mercifully you bent your head on its slender neck,/
if only l could have formed something with those worn out words,/
limning how painfully beautiful you are to me./
you averted your eyes and flew away./
Describe your song in one word *
sad/ironic
en passant
my attention was captured
you did not
know that I was enraptured.
embayed
in my memory's remotest sea
you - alas -
did not have a remembrance of me.
magnificently
emerging from amidst the orchids,
idly
eclipsing all the crowd around,
lovely
earthbound bird in its academic cage.
eventually,
my awkward cacology spoken in dismay
you averted
your eyes and flew away
magnificently
emerging from amidst the orchids,
idly
eclipsing all the crowd around,
lovely
earthbound bird you averted
your eyes and flew away

I'm kind of in love with this poem
ReplyDeleteit's really great.
ReplyDeletedo you know where it's from?
no! can't find a hint of it anywhere! sad...
ReplyDeletehow appropriate. a ghost poem, referencing a ghost ship, by a ghost perhaps?
ReplyDeletewritten to, it appears, another ghost
ReplyDeletemy favorite line is the first one. pop songs should have more references to obscure chess moves.
ReplyDeleteI was going to suggest you write a song called "The Queen's Gambit," but it's not obscure enough, it seems. Already been done.
ReplyDeleteha!
