What is your song idea?
Nana is turning 90 in June and so we are having a nanapalooza. This will be her birthday song.
She met Daddy Pat in a bar in Mexico. They lived in Texas, Miami, New York City, London, and Hong Kong. She used to be a pretty big partier too with wild dresses and lots of drinking, before her christian stage. And she raised two complete sets of kids, waiting for the second pair until the first pair had left home. She used to bake homeade bread all the time until one time at a party when a fellow was talking about how much he loves homemade bread and misses it because his wife only bought storebought and Daddy Pat didn't brag on Nana and she never made homeade again.
She travelled all over the world with Daddy Pat since he was an international pilot. they owned an antique store called the green lantern when he retired.
Nana used to be obsessed with her hairdo so when traveling she would wear a plastic shower cap in some public places ie, taxi cabs or bus tours , so the wind wouldn't mess it up... it was very funny AND funny looking i am sure, especially in Israel, Thailand, Greece just to name a few.
Nana's mother was lots of fun and would go out and dance in the rain and be silly but had a hard time getting around as a result of having had polio as a child. She had a big cast iron skillet and would cook the biscuits in it followed by the bacon or sausage followed by the eggs for a one pan meal. Nana's parents were divorced and she used to plan to be home from a visit to her dad before the next childsupport payment was due in case he wouldn't send it otherwise and her mom had no other income.
Nana's grandparents lived on a farm in rural texas and were really sweet and loving and jolly. Nana used to swim in the cow tank there and walk barefoot down the dusty road to her friend's house. Her mom and dad almost got re-married after they were divorced but her stepmother got pregnant right as he was about to leave her. Her father owned a ford dealership in Texas. Her brother Bill was a baker. One time when we had a watermelon but no knife at a rest stop Nana broke open the watermelon with a great heave onto a cement bench and we just dug it out with our fingers.
Her dream house that she and Daddy Pat built on the river had a mexican feel with a courtyard and tile roofs. They used to go out on a houseboat and then later a pontoon boat. She had a beautiful fish pond there and paths through the bamboo and tons of flowers everywhere. You could watch the sun set over the Sebastion river.
